The State of Qatar condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli occupation authorities’ approval of a law allowing the return to 4 settlements in the West Bank, and considered this step a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter, the principles of international law, and relevant United Nations resolutions, and a blatant assault on the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people. In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar’s deep concern over the de facto policy pursued by the Israeli occupation forces for years, which aims to strip Palestinian rights guaranteed by international law, and undermines international efforts to implement the two-state solution, and called on the international community to bear His responsibilities to compel Israel to stop its settlement policy in the occupied Palestinian territories. The Ministry reaffirmed Qatar’s firm position on the justice of the Palestinian cause, the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, and the establishment of its independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
