Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

The German Foreign Ministry calls the Russian Federation’s decision on nuclear weapons in Belarus an attempt to intimidate

The German Foreign Ministry called Russian President Vladimir Putin’s statement on the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus a “continued attempt at nuclear intimidation”. This is written by the German newspaper Die Welt.

“President Putin’s comparison with NATO nuclear sharing is misleading and cannot be used to justify Russia’s announced decision,” the German Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The ministry added that Belarus at the international level in several statements has pledged to be free of nuclear weapons.

Earlier it became known that Russia will place tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus. Russian President Vladimir Putin said the deployment of weapons will take place without violating relevant international obligations. According to him, the reason for this decision was London’s statement regarding the supply of depleted uranium ammunition to Kiev.
