Protesters storm Netanyahu’s Jerusalem residence after Defense Ministry chief resigns

In Jerusalem, thousands of protesters against the judicial reform promoted by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stormed into his residence in Jerusalem. The police cordon did not hinder the demonstrators, writes the Walla portal.

On Sunday evening, protests in Israel erupted with renewed vigor after Netanyahu sacked Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

“Thousands of protesters against legal revolution tonight broke through the last police checkpoint outside the Prime Minister’s residence in Jerusalem, the highway to Jerusalem was blocked to traffic,” the publication said.

Local media are reporting that law enforcement has started using water cannons to repel protesters.

Earlier, The Daily Telegraph newspaper wrote that the Israeli prime minister could not travel to London for talks with his British counterpart Rishi Sunak due to the pilots’ refusal to deliver him to the UK.
