Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

In the Magadan region are preparing to allow gold mining by individuals

According to the government of Magadan region, the region will become a pilot for the implementation of the law on gold mining by individuals. This bill has been approved by the Russian government and could soon be submitted to the State Duma. Passing the law will allow those involved in mining gold in deposits that big business is not interested in to do so legally. Minors will have access to digital services and systems.

The adoption of the law will bring illegal miners out of the shadows, which will have a positive impact not only on these people, but also on the region’s budget. Residents of many villages of Kolyma will have the opportunity to mine gold in a civilized way, it will be much more profitable for them, after paying the tax, without hiding, to engage in prospecting.

It is specified that the sites of extraction of precious metals in the Magadan region are located in the municipal district of Susumansky. In the future, the geography of freedom will be extended to other municipalities of the Kolyma.

Importantly, the state will exercise control over the legal activities of miners and gold mining licenses will be issued to individuals for three years. In case of violation of the law, the plots will be withdrawn. The planned area for mining activities is 1498 hectares, which can provide more than 140 sites for gold mining. There are also plans to allocate about a thousand sites for artisanal mining in the Magadan region.
