Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Polyansky: Denmark, Germany and Sweden await prompt investigation

Dmitry Polyansky, Russia’s first deputy permanent representative to the United Nations, said a number of UN Security Council members expect Germany, Sweden and Denmark to quickly investigate the Nord Stream incident.

He clarified that such a decision was a positive result of the vote on the Russian resolution, which had taken place the day before. Let us recall that the UN Security Council did not adopt a draft resolution calling for the creation of an international commission under the aegis of the UN.

“During the vote, many members of the UN Security Council expressed their position. They made it clear that they favored a speedy investigation. Among other things, there is also pressure from the part of the Council which abstained. They also represent the speed of investigation and clarification of most details,” Polyansky said.

According to him, this result of the last vote is positive.
