Ragnhildur Þórðardóttir, better known as Ragga Nagil, talks in her latest Facebook post about gut flora and gives various tips on how to deal with it.
“After seven days of penicillin, Naglan’s digestive system is pretty much over the edge, but the use of antibiotics is upsetting the balance of gut flora,” says Ragga, reviewing the tube’s role digestive.
“The digestive tract plays a number of roles in protecting against infections, and if an imbalance develops it can lead to disease. Billions of bacteria are like slaves in the intestines, digesting and absorbing energy, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals from the foods we eat.And their work is not finished there, because like scrubbers after a rock concert, they clean out the unnecessary and the inappropriate, thus supporting a healthy immune system and keeping the plumbing regular.
This is why the omnibus cluster of this long organ is now set in motion in the middle of the body. Research shows that food (prebiotics) and good bacteria (probiotics) can restore the balance of the intestines after the use of antibiotics.”
How to improve the intestinal flora?
Ragga says several things to help with a weakened intestinal flora: *Increase the consumption of high fiber foods such as vegetables and fruits. Press 1-2 tablespoons of NOW Psyllium Husk into oatmeal. * Drink apple cider vinegar on an empty stomach 1-2 times a day. * Reduce sucralose and aspartame intake and use natural sweeteners such as erythritol and stevia instead. For example Stevia drops from Good Good and Now. Erythritol or Sweet like Stevia.*Digestive enzymes like Dairy Digest and Gluten Digest help the body break down gluten and lactose.*The amino acid L-glutamine creates a protective film inside the intestines. 5-10g per day preferably before bedtime not only improves the intestines, but promotes overnight recovery and improves the immune system. L-glutamine is available in powder and pill form now. * Vegetables and sour dairy products contain tons of microbes that help good bacteria do their job. For example, Greek yogurt, curd, sauerkraut, pickled cucumbers. It’s good to start with mild bacteria such as 10 billion or Probiotic Defense and alternate between concentrations regularly. *Then give the gut flora a break from all the bacteria and let it work independently in between.
“Everything begins in the intestine” said Aristotle And this is certainly not an exaggeration. It’s a source of GABA, serotonin, dopamine… For the room above to be in order, there has to be a party in the flora, because neurotransmitters and hormones clog the highway that leads from the gut to the brain. is on the street, there will be a small labor contribution to integrate the messages in the cars into the brain. A healthy intestinal flora is therefore the basis of health.”
