Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Tatiana Moskalkova has suggested issuing Russian passports to compatriots abroad at Russian consulates as well. She said so in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Please note that this is currently prohibited by law. Regarding passports, residents of Russia, being outside their country of origin, can apply for a replacement passport. The waiting period will be approximately three months.
In some countries, such as Georgia and Armenia, there is now a long queue for registration at consular offices. The influx of those wishing to obtain international passports is due to the fact that many left Russia after the mobilization began. They also asked for replacement documents. Most of these citizens have already returned home.
