Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on the resumption of flights to Georgia and the abolition of visas, saying it was a humanitarian decision. He also noted that he would rather not go overboard when it comes to future prospects.
“There was a different reaction yesterday from Tbilisi. There was negative, there was restraint. But in this case, of course, we are talking about a humanitarian decision,” he said.
Peskov pointed out that for a long time the Russian authorities have received calls from citizens and entrepreneurs of both countries, public associations, scientific circles and cultural figures asking to make such decisions.
“It was for humanitarian reasons. As for the prospects for the future, I would not run so far yet, ”added the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation.
It became known yesterday that Russian airlines could start flights to Georgia as early as next week.
