Today, the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf condemned, in the strongest terms, the settlers’ storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces.
Mr. Jassim Muhammad Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, said that the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque during the blessed month of Ramadan is a dangerous escalation and a provocation to the feelings of Muslims around the world, and it contradicts international principles and norms in respect of religious sanctities, as well as a flagrant violation of international law and resolutions. The Secretary-General called on the international community to take urgent action to stop these abuses and redouble efforts to advance the peace process, stressing the positions of the Cooperation Council towards the Palestinian issue as the first issue of Arabs and Muslims, and supporting the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the borders of June 4, 1967 AD, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
