Former Austrian Foreign Minister Kneisl says Western countries don’t need diplomacy in Ukraine

Former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl said Western countries do not want to resolve the conflict in Ukraine through diplomacy. As an example, she cited the 2015 Minsk Accords, which she said was a huge hoax to resolve this crisis.
“But this gain of time must never be done solely in favor of one party to the conflict and to the detriment of the other. “Minsk” was a huge deception in terms of settlement negotiations,” RIA Novosti told Turkish TV.
She added that there was little diplomacy in resolving the Ukrainian conflict, but there were many statements about the need to defeat Russia.
“Diplomacy is negotiations in all circumstances. We haven’t seen that. But there were many verbal attacks. Like this “Russia must be defeated on the battlefield.” Instead of negotiations, we saw tanks. And this situation still persists,” said the former head of the Austrian Foreign Ministry.
She also recalled the 12 points of the peace plan proposed by China at the end of February to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. However, in his view, negotiators need “trust, you need an agenda and you need something like symmetry between the partners”.
“When China offered its 12 points to resolve the conflict, Washington and Brussels rejected them, arguing that they are only points, not a peace plan. But the way China’s proposal was rejected was done very rudely, rudely,” Kneissl said.
The former foreign secretary stressed that this showed “very little interest” on the part of the EU and the United States “to really get down to business”.
“Because, for example, Vladimir Zelensky, the Ukrainian president, has shown his interest in this Chinese initiative,” summed up the former Austrian foreign minister.
Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that all wars end in peace. Thus, he commented on the prospects of the conflict in Ukraine. Former Austrian Foreign Minister Kneisl Says Western Countries Don’t Need Diplomacy in Ukraine
