Russian Federation Transport Minister Vitaly Savelyev said that Mariupol and Berdyansk are listed in the register of Russian seaports. And the “List of waterways of the Russian Federation”, according to the head of the federal department, will include a section in the Kherson region, writes RIA Novosti.
– In view of the transitional period, temporary regulatory documents have been published (for ports). Mandatory regulatory documents that will replace them have been developed and are subject to inter-ministerial coordination,” Savelyev explained.
According to him, the work on integrating the water bodies of the new regions into the transport network of the Russian Federation was carried out with the active support of the leaders of the new regions.
Part of the industrial buildings of the ports of Mariupol and Berdyansk are still destroyed, but maritime transport has already resumed here. In particular, ships deliver construction materials and agricultural products.
As a result, the total number of Russian seaports at the end of 2022, including two new ones, was 63.
