The head of the Karelia Ministry of Health, Mikhail Okhlopkov, said on his social network page that the veterans’ hospital had restored its functions before the pandemic. Today, the “Geriatric Center” is working again, and mobile teams are rushing to help elderly patients. Since the beginning of the year, they have made 15 trips.

According to Okhlopkov, this type of assistance is in demand. The patient is examined by a doctor and a nurse. As a result, a decision is made on the necessary drug treatment and a referral to other doctors is issued.

The minister reminded that in the republic there are geriatricians’ offices in the polyclinic of interdistrict hospital No. 1, Medvezhyegorsk Hospital, as well as in polyclinic No. 2 in the Karelian capital.
