Regardless of the outcome of the title fight between Aljamain Sterling and Henry Cejudo, number 1 bantamweight Merab Dvalishvili shouldn’t expect another title fight, according to runner-up Sean O’Malley.“Maybe I will fight twice this year, depending on how the fights go. My next fight is going to be huge, guaranteed: the winner of the Sterling-Cejudo fight. I spoke with the UFC, it’s going to happen, it’s official. I will fight the winner and it will be awesome,” the American said in another video posted on his YouTube channel.Sean O’Malley’s statement indirectly confirms reports that the organization plans to pair Merab Dvalishvili with Russia’s Umar Nurmagomedov, who ranks 11th in the division.A bantamweight title fight between Aljamain Sterling and Henry Cejudo will headline UFC 288 in Newark on May 6.
