Since 2007, the Spasskaya Theater has organized the region’s largest event in the field of contemporary art – the contemporary dance and performance festival 3DVIG. For sixteen years, famous and aspiring dance artists, performers and choreographers from all over the country have come to Kirov at the invitation of the festival’s artistic director Irina Brezhneva. No other festival in Kirov can boast of such a long history and past – thanks to 3DVIG, over the years, the people of Kirov have become acquainted with the work of a large number of bold, daring dancers , free, extraordinary and talented from Russia and other countries. This year, the festival will take place on April 11 and 12.
Choreographers and dancers from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Kostroma, Chelyabinsk, Nizhny Novgorod come to 3DVIG in Kirov – the geography of the Spring Festival makes a strong impression. The show program includes collaborations by independent dance artists, solo works, performances and miniatures from theaters and contemporary dance studios.
Spectators will also see the works of special guests of the festival, including famous Russian dancers, including the artists of the Gogol Center who worked with Kirill Serebryannikov, Ivan Sachkov and Andrey Petrushenkov, choreographer, teacher, dancer of one of the national groups the most famous. – Chelyabinsk Contemporary Dance Theater, Rafael Timerbakov, nominated for the Golden Mask National Theater Award, choreographer, teacher and dancer Ekaterina Stegniy, who will also be one of the curators of the festival, and many other guests.
It should be noted that on the festival poster the audience will also meet familiar Kirov dance groups and teams. The opportunity to share the stage with prominent representatives of Russian contemporary dance is both a support for the local dance community, a contribution to its development and new opportunities for choreographers and dancers from Kirov who seek their own language, their style and their path in the field of contemporary dance.
“The 3DVIG concept has changed more than once, and this year the festival has “grown” again – this time we invited authors and performers to Kirov, whose works have already become a discovery at festivals and Russian places,” says Irina Brezhneva. the upcoming event. – I wanted to show modern dance in the city in its diversity and development. We have chosen bold works – bold in the sense that their authors are not afraid to be themselves. We have chosen works where there is a lot of freedom – the inner freedom of the artist. Every day of the festival, we invite viewers to an open discussion about the works. Contemporary art needs comments, dialogues and the open discussion format has long become one of the traditions of 3DVIG.
