Armenian parliament speaker says Pashinyan’s son was attacked in Yerevan

Unidentified persons attacked Ashot Pashinyan, the son of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. This was stated by the Speaker of the National Assembly (Parliament) of the country Alen Simonyan.
“Ashot Pashinyan was also attacked yesterday,” he wrote on his page on the social network Facebook * (owned by the Meta company, recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation).
The head of Armenia’s National Assembly did not give further details about the incident. According to the politician, the incident is “part of a series of provocations” by the Armenian opposition against representatives of the country’s authorities and their relatives. Simonyan believes that the traces of these provocations “are found outside Armenia”.
As noted by the speaker of the Armenian parliament, the opposition had previously used physical violence against politicians associated with the authorities. According to him, Dashnaktsutyun party MP Mher Sahakyan hit Vladimir Vardanyan, head of the state and legal affairs committee of the republic parliament, late last month. According to Simonyan, this story and the beating of the son of the head of the Armenian government Nikol Pashinyan in Yerevan are “links in the same chain”.
