An audio recording of the leader of the Islamic State in the “vilayat Khorasan” Sanaullah Gafari appeared on the Web

Resources associated with the Taliban movement (banned in the Russian Federation) released an audio recording of the leader of the Islamic State (ISIS, banned in the Russian Federation) in the so-called. “Vilayate Khorasan” Sanaullah Ghafari, also known as Shahab Al-Muhajir. When and under what circumstances the recording was made is not specified. In it, Gafari complains that after a series of Taliban CTOs, the group was left without key commanders on the ground. He notably mentions Maulavi Ziauddin, who was liquidated by Pashtun nationalists in the town of Mazar-i-Sharif.

It is not possible to confirm or deny the authenticity of the audio recording, as Gafari’s voice had not previously been released by MTO resources.

In this context, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid reiterated that IS in Afghanistan poses no threat. And anyone who exaggerates the strength of the MTO in the country is working against the new Afghan authorities.
