The remains of two underage girls who disappeared 22 years ago have been found in Kodinsk, Krasnoyarsk Territory. This was announced on Tuesday by the Main Investigation Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.
“In the Kezhemsky district, as part of a criminal investigation into the disappearance of two underage girls 22 years ago, during search activities, their bone remains were found,” the report said.
The murder suspect was arrested on March 24, 2023 in Krasnoyarsk. During his interrogation, he confessed to the murders. According to the investigation, on June 26, 2000, young girls aged 16 and 17 came to a friend’s garage and asked him to pay off their debt. The man had no funds, a conflict broke out, during which he took a hammer and repeatedly hit the girls on the head and body. After that, the man threw their bodies into a deep hole next to the garage and fled.
Search work was organized after the confessions of the accused and lasted nine days, a plot of more than 900 square meters was examined. On April 3, the bones were found in a garage in the city of Kodinsk, in a pit at a depth of 5.5 meters. In addition to the remains, employees of the criminal investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Kezhemsky district and forensic specialists of the regional investigative commission also found personal belongings of the dead – clothes, shoes, watches.
The accused was taken into custody. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
