The lecture was held in cooperation with the Center "accord" for family counseling, and the Fund for Supporting Social and Sports Activities, and aimed at clarifying the mechanisms for dealing with marital disputes that occur during the first years of marriage, and how to deal with them as a natural part of marital life. Dr. Jassim Al-Mutawa, a consultant in family and educational affairs, began his lecture by defining the program and the importance of managing dialogue between spouses, especially during the first year of marriage, highlighting the most common differences that occur between spouses, which can be addressed and avoided through dialogue, and by following the best and correct methods. During a dispute, use rational methods to confront it. Al-Mutawa said: The advantage of building a good relationship between the spouses includes a mutual sense of strong commitment to each other, their response to each other’s needs, support for each other, and achieving a mutual level of marital life based on affection and compassion. In her turn, Mrs. Reem Al-Ajmi, Acting Director of the Community Care Department at the Ministry of Social Development and Family, confirmed that the ministry launched a program "First year of marriage" For her great keenness to enhance family cohesion in society, noting that the program is multi-dimensional, and primarily concerned with rehabilitating those who are about to get married and new spouses, to support the stability of emerging families by providing them with the necessary services and advice for the success of married life. She added that the Ministry pays great attention to the family, and works to protect and support it as the natural and basic unit in building society, noting that the Ministry is working to launch several initiatives and projects that enhance family cohesion in society. It is noteworthy that the First Year of Marriage Program is a pioneering family program in rehabilitating those about to get married and guiding new spouses to a stable and successful family life with the aim of creating and strengthening a state of family cohesion, reducing divorce rates in Qatari society, and identifying its causes, by treating the factors leading to it. The program aims to support young families to reach a stable and successful family life, qualify new and soon-to-be married couples to overcome the obstacles of marital life, and raise community awareness of the rights and duties of spouses within the framework of Islamic law, which calls for strengthening the bonds of partnership between spouses, affection and mercy. The program also includes four main axes, including: the educational awareness axis, the applied training axis, the consulting axis, and the creative axis responsible for attracting young people of both sexes to raise awareness of plans for success and safe passage from the first years of marriage, as well as its work to invest in scientific research and field and survey research to study issues Marriage and divorce in the Qatari society, in cooperation with the competent authorities, with the aim of understanding the roots and causes of divorce, and then drawing supportive policies to bring about societal change. It is worth noting that the program "First year of marriage" It includes a digital platform that combines electronic content and practical training, and is concerned with qualifying those about to get married and providing them with scientific content by a group of experts and specialists, and providing young people with the knowledge, skills and values ​​that enable them to establish stable and cohesive families, which will generally be reflected in reducing divorce rates.
