Mirel and Apollo: the rarest names for babies since the beginning of 2023 were named in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug

On the evening of April 4, the YNAO civil status office took stock of the work for the first three months of 2023. The experts named the most popular and rare names given by the inhabitants of Yamal to the newborns during this period.

The rarest names for girls in 2023 are Anisiya, Nicoletta, Mirel, Severina and Ruslana. The YaNAO boys also received unusual names: Apollo, Lawrence, Moses, Ustin, Yakov.

Most often in Yamal, newborn girls are called Sofia, Alice, Eva, Victoria, Kirami. On the boys’ side, since the beginning of 2023, Mikhail, Artem, Alexandra, Maxima and Mirona are most often born in the region.

In just three months of this year, 827 boys and 767 girls were born in Yamal.
