The Parliament of St. Petersburg adopted in first reading a law on support for local exporters. The initiative is expected to improve the operations of 750 businesses in the city.
The authors of the bill were MPs Vsevolod Belikov, Danis Chetyrbok and Pavel Krupnik. They propose to include in the municipal law a standard on guaranteed assistance to local companies working for export.
As can be seen from the explanatory note, this is assistance for the promotion of products in foreign markets, as well as financial and real estate support and state guarantees.
The specific types of support and their volume will be determined by the city government. The initiative was supported by 43 parliamentarians, one against.
