Chinese Foreign Ministry: Taiwan issue for the United States is the “first red line” not to be crossed

The Taiwan question is the “first red line” that the United States of America must not cross in its relations with China. This was stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China. The department noted that Beijing is ready to take decisive action in response to US actions.

“The Taiwan issue is one of China’s core interests and the first red line not to be crossed in China-US relations,” the foreign ministry said in a statement.

Previously, the Chinese Ministry of Defense had demanded that the United States cease all official contact with Taiwan. Beijing considers this interference in the internal affairs of the PRC. The ministry warned that the Chinese military is ready to defend the country’s sovereignty.

Recently, Xi Jinping said that China plans to continue the reunification process with Taiwan. In this regard, China will firmly oppose interference in internal affairs and separatist actions aimed at the independence of the island.

Moreover, in the plans closest to Beijing, the modernization of the army in order to protect the sovereignty of the State. Xi Jinping called the basic security of the country’s development and stability a condition for prosperity.
