The worsening situation on Israel’s northern border is associated with a deep political crisis in the country. This opinion was expressed by Andrey Zeltyn, a lecturer at the HSE School of Oriental Studies.
“The crisis is due to the fact that for the first time in the history of Israel, a far-right government has been formed… At least two government ministers are loudly voicing anti-Arab and anti- Islamic,” he said.
As a result, certain Palestinian resistance circles, notably Hamas, and a number of other militant organizations are beginning to use the statements of Israeli officials against Israel itself.
“Rightly declaring: “Look, Israel shows its face, it removes the skin of the sheep, we see the fangs of a wolf, it will offer us the night of Bartholomew. We must prevent this, protect our brothers,” Zeltyn explained to Palestinian logic.
Moreover, according to the political scientist, this political crisis is superimposed on the events of the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, where a tense situation is observed every year.
Earlier it was reported that several dozen rockets had been fired from Lebanon into northern Israel. Casualties have been reported. Then we learned that Israel was retaliating against the southern territories of Lebanon. Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv has suspended all flights, airspace in the north of the country has been closed.
According to RT, rocket launchers have already been found in Lebanon, which were used to bombard Israel. Lebanese authorities are investigating.
