Navigation of small boats in the Murmansk region begins from May 3

In the Kola Arctic, dates for the start of navigation of small vessels in 2023 have been determined. First, it will be possible to get to the reservoir by boat in the Terek and Kandalaksha regions.

On Thursday, April 6, the press service of the government of the Murmansk region reported on which dates the navigation of small boats will begin in the region.

Thus, according to the decree of the regional government, it will be possible to travel to the reservoirs on boats in the districts of Kandalaksha and Terek, from May 3, at first.

A little later, on May 6, navigation will begin in the Kovdorsky district and in Polyarnye Zori. From May 10, the same will happen in the water bodies located in Murmansk, Apatity, Kirovsk, Monchegorsk, Olenegorsk and the Lovozersky district. In the other municipalities of the Kola Arctic, navigation opens from May 13.

It should be noted that immediately after the deicing of water bodies, the organizations and services involved in the safety of persons, the protection of the aquatic environment and biological resources, as well as those carrying out flood control operations, search and rescue, are authorized to go on the water.

We will remind, earlier “The Eastern Herald in Murmansk” said that more than a thousand people took part in large-scale exercises of firefighters and rescuers in the Murmansk region.
