Today, the Lebanese army announced that it had launched a number of rockets from the vicinity of the towns of Qalila, Maaliyah and Zibqin in Tire district, south Lebanon, towards the Israeli entity. The Lebanese army said, in a statement issued by it, that it is conducting patrols in the area in coordination with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), but it did not indicate who was behind the rocket fire. The Lebanese army also indicated that a unit belonging to it found missile launchers and a number of missiles intended for launch in the vicinity of the towns of Zibqin and Qalila in southern Lebanon, and work is underway to dismantle them. On the other hand, the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed Beirut’s commitment to UN Security Council Resolution 1701, and its keenness on stability in southern Lebanon on the border with the Israeli entity. In a statement, the Lebanese Foreign Ministry called on the international community to pressure the Israeli entity to stop the escalation. The statement added: "Lebanon expresses its readiness to cooperate with peacekeeping forces in southern Lebanon and to take appropriate measures to restore calm and stability", warning of the Israeli entity’s intention to escalate, which threatens regional and international peace and security. For its part, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) called on the Lebanese and Israeli sides to exercise restraint and avoid escalation on the borders. Candice Ardel, Deputy Director of the UNIFIL Media Office, announced, in a statement, that "Several missiles were fired from southern Lebanon towards Israel this afternoon, and the Israeli army informed UNIFIL that it had activated the Iron Dome defense system in response.". Today, the Israeli occupation army bombed the outskirts of the towns of Al-Qulaylah and Al-Maaliya, in southern Lebanon, with a number of heavy shells. Israeli media also indicated that a missile attack from Lebanese territory targeted areas in the Israeli entity, without details. The occupation army announced, in a statement, that it had intercepted a missile fired from Lebanon towards the western Galilee, which caused alarm sirens to be activated. It was also announced that 3 people were injured as a result of missile strikes from Lebanese territory on settlements in the north of the Israeli entity.
