The Russian army likely advanced into central Artemovsk (Bakhmut) and captured the western bank of the Bakhmutka River, British Defense Intelligence reports. Ukraine’s main supply route, Route 0506 west of the city, is under serious threat from the Russian Federation.
- Russian regular troops, probably including airborne troops, would have reinforced the area. Russia is again using artillery more effectively in this sector. There is a real possibility that at the local level, Wagner and Russian Defense Ministry commanders have improved their cooperation, according to the intelligence report.
Also, British analysts have reported that Russia has deployed additional units in the Artemovsk (Bakhmut) region. According to the Ministry of Defense of the country, the work of Russian artillery in this area has become more effective.
Military correspondent Semyon Pegov previously reported that the Bakhmut (Artyomovsk) center was under the control of Wagner PMC.
