On Friday, April 7, World War II veteran Anna Popova celebrates her 100th birthday in the capital of Kuban. Krasnodar leader Yevgeny Naumov congratulated the honorary citizen of the city on his jubilee.
In social networks, the mayor wrote that Anna Ivanovna went to the front in 1942. The then girl went the way of the Kuban war to Germany. Yevgeny Naumov added that in the army she served as a Morse telegraph operator. Thus, a native of the Ryazan region helped to provide Soviet soldiers with important information in a timely manner. In -war years, the woman took an active part in the activities of the Veterans Council. The head of the city wished Anna Popova good health and the love of her family.
Recall that during the battle near Rivne, the veteran was shocked, in 1945 she was demobilized. 5 years after the war, Anna Popova moved to Lenin’s Krasnodar farm. Together with her husband, the woman worked in the cultivation team on the grounds of the Pashkovsky state farm and engaged in active patriotic work. The Defender of the Fatherland was awarded many orders and medals.
