Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

The Russian economy: the introduction of artificial intelligence will reach 50% by 2024

During a meeting with State Duma deputies, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin shared data on the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) into the Russian economy. According to him, the level of adoption of AI is currently around 20% and by 2024 it is expected to reach at least 50%. He noted that this is an important indicator that is difficult to measure.

To promote the AI industry in Russia, the “Artificial Intelligence” program was launched. In 2022, universities accepted 3.2 thousand students and teachers to train them in AI skills. In the same year, the National AI Development Center began its work, and the government allocated subsidies of 5 billion rubles to 650 AI projects of small and medium enterprises. For the period from 2021 to 2024, it is planned to allocate 28 billion rubles for the development of the AI field.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of developing AI in Russia and noted that the government is doing everything possible to support and promote the industry. He also met MPs who did not have time to ask questions about the government’s report to the State Duma last month.
