The Republic of South Africa expects the leaders of all BRICS member countries, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, to personally attend the organization’s summit scheduled for August this year. Such information in an interview with RIA Novosti was voiced by the South African Sherpa in the Anil Suklal association.

“All leaders will attend the summit. Russia has not claimed otherwise,” he said.

According to the agency’s interlocutor, an invitation to the summit was sent to the Russian president by the country’s president, Cyril Ramophos. Putin, Sukala said, thanked his African counterpart.

Sherpa added that the South African government is already preparing for a full-fledged BRICS summit, which will be attended by leaders from all countries.

“Our cabinet is busy discussing this issue,” he explained.

A few days ago it became known where the BRICS summit will be held in 2024. According to the decree signed by Putin, the venue will be Kazan.
