Firefighters and rescuers have found the bodies of two people who died in the collapse of a building in Marseille. This was reported by TASS with reference to French television.

According to the media, on Sunday April 9, a 5-storey building collapsed in the center of Marseille. Eyewitnesses say they heard the sound of an explosion, after which the building collapsed and a fire broke out.

The street where the incident occurred is very narrow, hampering firefighting and search and rescue operations. According to police estimates, up to 10 people could be under the rubble of the building.

Following the explosion and the fire, according to the Minister of Housing Olivier Klein, several neighboring houses were damaged, five people were injured, and the rescuers evacuated the inhabitants of about thirty houses in this district. from Marseille. More than 100 firefighters and rescuers participated in putting out the blaze and searching for people under the rubble.

According to preliminary information, the explosion of domestic gas became the cause of the collapse of the house, writes Le Monde.
