Duplecy fined 12 lakhs for slow over rate, Avesh reprimanded

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Faf Duplesey has been fined Rs 12 lakh for slow over-rate during their IPL match against Lucknow Supergiants.

Lucknow won the match by one wicket on the last ball after which their number 11 player Avesh Khan threw his helmet in the air in excitement. For this he was reprimanded by the match referee.

“Royal Challengers Bangalore have been fined for slow over-rate during their IPL match against Lucknow Supergiants at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday,” according to an Indian Premier League release.

“This is the team’s first offense of this season under the IPL Code of Conduct relating to slow over-rate and hence captain Faf Duplesey has been fined Rs 12 lakh,” it added.

As far as Madhya Pradesh fast bowler Avesh Khan is concerned, no financial penalty has been imposed on him and he has only been warned.

The release said, “Avesh Khan of Lucknow Supergiants has been reprimanded for breaching the code of conduct. Avesh has admitted to a Level 1 offense of the IPL Code of Conduct.

In case of a Level 1 offense of the Code of Conduct, the match referee’s decision is final.
