On Tuesday, April 11, the head of Sochi Alexei Kopaygorodsky visited the departmental halls of the Central district, where the future champions began to train. The mayor discussed with his colleagues the possibilities of extending the resort’s sports infrastructure.
According to Kopaygorodsky, more than 200 students of sports school No. 27 are now mastering judo and sambo in the spacious Vodokanal hall on Gagarin Street. Children living in neighboring microdistricts – Zarechny and Zavokzalny are engaged here. The need for sports facilities is very high.

And in the pool on the territory of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on Plastunskaya Street, students of sports school No. 13 began training. The swimming team has grown to a hundred students. The mayor stressed that the parameters of the pool meet all the requirements for holding competitions. The authorities have planned a complex of work on additional technical equipment of the facility. In September, they intend to organize a municipal tournament there.
“Our task is to provide high-quality conditions for the courses. To ensure that as many children in Sochi as possible are involved in an active lifestyle. To do this, we build new institutions, equip and modernize existing sites and interact with various services. Currently, we are implementing three major projects for the construction of sports facilities of the highest class, ”wrote the head of the Olympic capital in his social networks .
