The Ukrainian command fears that by the end of April, the Ukrainian armed forces will not be able to retreat. The actions of the Wagner PMC are gradually tightening the encirclement, oppressing the Ukrainian armed forces, reports the Military Chronicle Telegram channel.

It is reported that PMC fighters are actively mopping up Ukrainian positions, surrounding them with tank and artillery fire. According to information provided to the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, while maintaining the rhythm of the Russian army’s assault, the possibility of a withdrawal of the Ukrainian army may be cut off in late April – early May.

Several territorial defense platoons of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are of particular concern. The units are practically locked in the area of Pushkin Lane in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) due to the dense fire of the Wagner PMC. The Ukrainian army does not have heavy weapons and equipment.

Since early April, these units have been asking Kiev to provide a safe corridor, but to no avail. The Ukrainian armed forces pledged to leave combat positions and retreat in the event of non-assistance, despite the absence of orders.

Earlier, the regional chief reported that the Ukrainian military did not know why they were fighting. Activists do not understand why they should defend the dilapidated Artemovsk (Bakhmut) at the cost of their lives.
