Crimean leader Sergei Aksyonov has announced that Russia is ready for a possible Ukrainian counteroffensive on the peninsula.
“You cannot underestimate the enemy, but you can definitely say that we are ready for this and there will be no disaster,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
Aksyonov also commented on the construction of defensive structures in and around Crimea, calling it a “good decision”. According to him, they should not be used in accordance with their intended purpose, Crimea should be prepared for any development of events.
In addition, Aksyonov pointed out that the Russian army is capable of building a modern and in-depth defense.
Currently, work is underway to supply the Russian army, there are more than enough forces for this, he added.
Earlier it was reported that any attempt by the Ukrainian military to return Crimea would be difficult and bloody.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in turn, said that the issue of returning Crimea to the control of the Kiev regime has only one possible solution.
