Deputies from all factions of the State Duma signed a New People appeal to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov with a request to consider the possibility of unblocking Twitter in Russia. A copy of the appeal fell into the hands of several news agencies.

22 State Duma deputies signed, one of them from United Russia (Anton Basansky), two from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (Mikhail Matveev and Artem Prokofiev), three from the LDPR (including Yaroslav Nilov and Stanislav Naumov), two from “Just Russia – For the Truth” (Nikolai Novichkov and Yana Lantratova), 14 – from the “New People” (including Alexei Nechaev).

“The policy of the social network Twitter has changed with the change of ownership”, specify the deputies.

The appeal says Twitter “has stopped discriminating against Russian government agencies and journalists” by the “personal decision” of the platform’s new owner, Elon Musk.

For the last time, Anton Gorelkin, deputy chairman of the State Duma committee on information policy, information technology and communications, proposed to reconsider the decision to block Twitter in the territory of the Russian Federation.

However, Roskomnadzor saw no reason to remove the Twitter block. It was reported that banned content still remained in the public domain on the platform, including child pornography, “narcotic and suicidal content”, as well as “calls for rioting and fakes”, including on the course of the SVO on the territory. from Ukraine.
