Famous actors Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are great friends. So big that their children call them cousins. But could they really be related? They then count after Matthew’s mother reveals she knows Woody’s father. Matthew revealed this on the Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast with Kelly Ripa.
The actors were vacationing with their families when Matthew’s mother casually told Woody – “I knew your dad.” She said this directly after a conversation about the close friendship between the actors and their families.
Matthew says most people know what his mother means when she says she knew men like she did there. This indicates that they had sex.
“My kids call him Uncle Woody and his kids call me Uncle Matthew. And you look at pictures of us and my family thinks a lot of his pictures are of me and his family thinks a lot of my pictures are of him.”
Woody’s father was a hitman and he died in prison 16 years ago. The cast did some research and discovered that Matthew’s mom and Woody’s dad met when Matthew’s parents divorced for the second time.
“So there are receipts and possible places in West Texas where there could have been a gathering, a meeting, or the time when they ‘met’.
Matthew’s father, James, died in 1992. Matthew wrote about this in his memoir, saying his father died during sex, just when he had an orgasm.
Matthew noted, however, that the Woodys did not have their genetic material tested. Woody is invited and done but Matthew is hesitant as the stakes are high for him, he risks finding out that the man who raised him wasn’t really his father.
