Otherwise, it will cease to exist after May 18, according to the TELMENEWS.RU news agency.

Extended in March for 60 days, the cereals agreement ends on May 18. The Russian Foreign Ministry reports that under Russia’s terms, no progress has been made. Therefore, when the term expires, the trade can be stopped if there is no prospect.

The requirements of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – reconnection of Rosselkhozbank to SWIFT; resumption of supplies of agricultural machinery, spare parts and service; the abolition of restrictions on insurance and reinsurance as well as the lifting of the ban on access to ports; restoration of works of the ammonia pipeline “Togliatti-Odessa”.

Earlier, Dmitry Mazepin, co-owner of Uralchem, approached Vladimir Putin asking him to solve the problem of pumping Russian ammonia to Africa and other developing countries via Odessa. According to the businessman, in the framework of the “grain agreement” concluded by Russia, Ukraine and the UN, the parties agreed, among other things, to allow the transport of ammonia from the company Togliattiazot to Ukrainian territory. But so far, no progress has been made to solve this problem.

In addition, Russian authorities demand to release funds from company accounts. Otherwise, the “Black Sea Initiative” will be discontinued.

“Without progress in addressing 5 ‘systemic’ issues, there is no need to talk about a further extension of the grain deal after May 18,” the ministry said in a statement.

According to the grain agreement, grain from Ukrainian ports should be delivered to the poorest countries. However, Russian authorities and the media have repeatedly noted that, in fact, he is going to Europe. So, earlier IA DEITA.RU reported that Ukrainian grain is fed to pigs in Spain. Poor countries receive only a meager percentage of the total production flow.
