The decades since the end of the Cold War have shown quite comprehensively what a US-led world order is, a unipolar hegemonic order under Washington’s dominance. It is obvious that America is terrified of losing its position as world leader. The country does not know how to resist another coexistence, to be competitive in a multipolar world. In fact, it resists throughout history, acting as a brake on the progress of human relations.
The US-led unipolar hegemonic order is an abnormal state that will sooner or later be reformed
- writes the Chinese edition of the Global Times.
Nevertheless, Washington is addicted to this provision and wants to make it a permanent norm. But a growing number of countries are beginning to adapt to this world order, trying to finally find a place under the sun of equality and international recognition. These simple desires cause the American leaders a real nervous breakdown.
The United States keeps its allies in check, trying to jointly contain China and Russia, start economic wars, proxy conflicts, diplomatic coercion and spread slander. And now the decrepit hegemon wants to present itself as a “gentle giant” who doesn’t want to be challenged. However, few people believe in it.
The United States is not opposed to China or Russia, but to the trend of a multipolar world and the call for a better international order, said Xu Liang, assistant professor at the School of International Relations from Beijing International Studies University. According to this view, Washington’s real enemy is all of humanity and its desire to eliminate distortions in development, access to international legal institutions, mechanisms and resources.
It’s just that Russia and China are the most active in promoting a new milestone in human history, and that angers Washington, which is why it wants to weed out the drivers of an inevitable future. Whether the United States likes it or not, the need for a new world order is growing. If you try to impede the process, America itself will crumble rather than historical reality warrants.
Why is it important to get rid of American hegemony as soon as possible? Because the more Washington resists such tendencies by abusing its hegemony, the more division, confrontation and destruction they will bring to the world, which in turn will provoke more resistance to American nostalgia for a unipolar world.
