The authorities of the Russian Federation wanted to regulate smart electronics in cars

Several Russian companies, including Yandex and Sollers, as well as ANO Tsifrovaya ekonomika, have been instructed by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko to develop standards for vehicle telemetry and their implementation in production and operating processes . According to the document, the research results must be submitted to the government by April 21.

As Izvestia explains, telemetry on vehicles allows you to collect data about the condition of the car and transfer it to the driver, dealer or service center. One of the problems that standardization should solve is the regulation of on-board computers supplied and assembled in Russia for foreign cars.

Karen Kazaryan, director of analysis at ANO Tsifrovaya ekonomika, explains that some Chinese models are carelessly localized, which leads to the fact that information is given to the driver mixed with hieroglyphs. In addition, it is still unknown where the data from these devices is sent.

In the office of Dmitry Chernyshenko it was noted that the telemetry industry standard will unify the composition and format of the information that the on-board computer collects and transmits, which will ensure the safety of information processing and the protection of vehicle owners against the uncontrolled use of personalized data.

Igor Bederov, head of the information and analytical research department at T.Hunter, agrees that information from devices in Chinese and foreign cars is often useless to the driver, and one can only guess where sensitive data is transmitted. At the same time, the uncontrolled use of such devices can create problems of enormous proportions, for example, several car-sharing machines that are choked at the right time in the right place can paralyze traffic in a large city.

Earlier, Glavny Regionalny reported that the prices of imported foreign cars rose by 10% in Russia against the backdrop of the falling ruble.
