The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Syria called for Damascus control over Syrian territory

Syrian territory should be under the control of Damascus, say the heads of the foreign ministries of Syria and Saudi Arabia. This is stated in their joint statement, approved by the foreign ministers of both parties after talks between them in Jeddah, reports TASS.

“The parties stressed the need to support the institutions of the Syrian state, to extend their control over Syrian territory in order to end the presence of armed groups and external interference in the internal affairs of Syria” , the foreign ministers were quoted by the Saudi Press Agency as saying.

In early April, the outskirts of the Syrian capital Damascus was bombarded by Israel. The attack killed two Syrian civilians.
