The Russian Foreign Ministry was contacted by the Finnish Embassy in Moscow after the mission received three envelopes containing an unknown powder. This was announced by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova. The diplomat added that the envelopes were handed over to law enforcement.
“When the first envelope was opened, a white powder was found in it, after which the other two letters were left sealed,” Zakharova said, as quoted by the Russian Foreign Ministry website.
According to the diplomat, the envelopes were addressed to the military attaché and his deputies.
Earlier, the head of the Russian House in the Central African Republic was injured in an assassination attempt, he was injured in the explosion of a parcel that reached him. The Russian Foreign Ministry considered the incident a terrorist attack.
