Russian leader Vladimir Putin does not plan to participate in any phase of the Pacific Fleet exercise, and the surprise check of the Pacific Fleet is unrelated to NATO’s expansion plans in the Asia- Pacific, added Dmitry Peskov.

Earlier, Defense Minister Shoigu said the Pacific Fleet had been brought to the highest level of readiness for verification.
