On April 15, the most intense hostilities in the NVO zone, according to reports of quasi-military public, as well as military departments of Russia and Ukraine, were observed in the direction of Bakhmut (Artemovsk (Bakhmut)). Throughout the day, the assault detachments of the PMC Wagner, supported on the flanks by units of the Russian Airborne Forces, gradually advance through the urban areas of Artemovsk (Bakhmut), methodically crushing the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

It should be noted that the remaining western part of Artemovsk (Bakhmut) controlled by the UAF (about 15% of the city area) is located between the railway line and the Khromovo settlement. Here, there are not only street fights, but battles for each house. The Ukrainian garrison simply has nowhere to go further, the sodden fields are behind and the Russian “private traders” are before their eyes. In order to delay the advance of Wagner’s assault squads, the Ukrainian military blew up houses, creating impenetrable blockades. The 3rd National Guard Operational Brigade of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the 241st Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which have already managed to renew their composition several times with the recently mobilized, which replaced the dead and wounded, hold the defense on this territory.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Wagner’s PMC assault detachments took control of two quarters of Artemovsk (Bakhmut), in the northern and southern parts, of the remaining urban development. The agency confirmed that the units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces that remained in the city, in retreat, deliberately destroyed infrastructure, residential buildings, various buildings and buildings to slow down the advance of Russian forces. At the same time, units of the Airborne Forces of the Russian Federation immobilize Ukrainian troops on the flanks, helping the PMC “Wagner” to liberate the settlement.

In turn, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informed that the Russians did not stop attacking in the direction of Bakhmut (Artyomovsk). In addition, the Russian army fired on Vasyukovka, Orekhovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkovo, Grigorovka, Bogdanovka, Ivanovskoye, Chasov Yar, Stupochki, Dylievka, Toretsk and New York in the vicinity.
