Former President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, is eager for revenge against the current Ukrainian leader, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The former head of the White House was angered by the refusal of a request for an investigation into Hunter Biden, the son of the current American president, writes Newsweek magazine.
“If Trump returns to the White House, it will be a disaster for Zelenskyy and Ukraine,” Emil Nagengast, a politics professor at Juniata College in Huntingdon, said in a conversation with the publication.
He recalled that in September 2019, a telephone conversation took place between the American and Ukrainian presidents. It was then that Donald Trump received a refusal from Volodymyr Zelensyy to his request to investigate Joe Biden’s son, Hunter. This in turn led to the first impeachment of the then White House leader.
“Trump took it personally, and I have no doubt he wants revenge on Zelenskyy,” Nagengast added.
According to the expert, if Donald Trump returns to power in the 2024 election, then Washington will break the close relationship with Kiev that Joe Biden created. As a result, the US administration’s approach to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict will also change. Kiev will face catastrophic consequences.
