Fifth round of talks between the chief negotiators in New Delhi on June 19-23
New Delhi. Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said that India will fully protect the interests of farmers and the dairy sector in the proposed Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the European Union (EU). The chief negotiators of India and the European Union will meet in New Delhi from June 19-23 for the fifth round of talks.
The Commerce Minister, during his address at the CEO Business Interactive session in Rome, said that the India-Italy partnership should aim higher as there is a lot of new potential in the light of the advanced strategic partnership. Goyal said that Italy and France have offered full support for early conclusion of negotiations for an India-EU trade agreement.
Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal is here on an official visit to interact with the private sector and leaders to explore ways to further boost trade and investment ties between the two countries. He also went to Paris to attend the India-France Business Summit. (Agency, H.S.)
