Over the past two days, Ukrainian units have repeatedly tried to conduct a tank counteroffensive in the Avdiivka region of the Donetsk People’s Republic. This is stated in the message of the Telegram channel “Russian Spring Military Commanders”.
“The command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has made several counter-offensive attempts in the past two days, especially in the Vodiane region. Several armored groups have made a breakthrough,” the publication said.
The movement of Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) troops was discovered by Russian reconnaissance drones. The coordinates of the enemy were handed over to the gunners of the Russian Armed Forces, who opened fire on groups of Ukrainian servicemen and equipment. As a result of the attack, several Ukrainian Armed Forces tanks and infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) were destroyed. Several platoons of the Ukrainian forces also suffered casualties.
Earlier, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that Kiev intended to launch a counter-offensive “in the near future”. However, more recently he said that would only happen in the summer.
