Financial Times: UAF counter-offensive will fail for lack of air support.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) will face big problems during the counter-offensive on the Russian defensive lines. This is reported by the international edition of the Financial Times, citing British military experts.
UK analysts noted that during the offensive, Ukrainian troops run the risk of encountering well-fortified positions of the Russian armed forces, minefields and anti-tank ditches.
In addition, military experts noted that Ukraine no longer has air supremacy, therefore, without aviation support, the offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces could turn into a devastating defeat.
“There are very few successful examples without air superiority,” said former British armored battalion commander Ben Barry.
He pointed out that the classic approach in a ground offensive is to allow troops to break through behind enemy lines in one or more areas, as well as to deliver a massive blow to the center of a concentration of troops.
