Nine anti-tank mines discovered near Kaluga

Nine anti-tank mines were discovered in the village of Lazenki, Spas-Demensky district, Kaluga region. They are explosive devices dating from the time of the Great Patriotic War, the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations reported on Monday (April 17th).

“Work on the disposal of explosive objects of the Great Patriotic War was carried out 1 time. 10 items found. This is the Spas-Demensky district, the village of Lazenki, 400 meters into the forest. There were 9 TMI – 35mm anti-tank mines, as well as a 45mm artillery shell,” the ministry said.

Now the findings pose no danger.

Explosive objects, despite the fact that the war ended more than 75 years ago, are constantly detected. In most cases, they are found in forest areas. The sappers go to the detection sites.
