The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that British Ambassador Deborah Bronnert had been the subject of strong protests due to her unacceptable statements and statements from London after the verdict against Vladimir Kara-Murza*.
The Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that London’s references to the presence of the accused of British nationality are legally null and void in the legal field of Russia. Moreover, Bronnert was not supposed to lecture the Russian Federation on human rights issues.
The Moscow City Court sentenced Vladimir Kara-Murza * to 25 years in prison for treason and “false” about the army. The politician has been in prison since April 2022. Initially, a criminal case was opened against Kara-Murza* for spreading “fake news” about the Russian army. The reason for this was the politician’s speech in the House of Representatives of the US state of Arizona on the actions of the Russian army in Ukraine.
However, his lawyer, Maria Eismont, said the defense would seek his release on health grounds.
