Putin will receive additional powers to protect himself against foreigners

The President of Russia will be granted additional powers to protect the country and citizens from illegal actions of foreign structures contrary to the interests of the state. State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin announced the adoption of the legislative initiative.

“The President of the Russian Federation is vested with additional powers to protect our country and our citizens in case foreign structures make illegal decisions or take actions directed against the Russian Federation,” Volodin wrote on Telegram.

In addition, a penalty is introduced in the form of imprisonment for up to five years for assistance in the execution of decisions of interstate structures on the criminal prosecution of Russian servicemen and volunteers, as well as public authorities.

The president explained that this was done due to cases of illegal actions of international organizations, especially the International Criminal Court. The amendments were introduced for the second reading of the Conscript Peacekeepers Bill.

Previously, the State Duma had adopted in the first reading a law allowing conscripts to participate in peacekeeping operations. So far, the peacekeeping contingent has been recruited from contract soldiers.

On March 17, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Putin and children’s ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova. The court assumes that they are “responsible for a war crime” related to the illegal deportation of children from Ukrainian territory since February 24.

Remember that the Russian Federation does not recognize the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court. Also, the decisions of this tribunal are shaking the air from the United States, China, India, Israel and Iran.
