In Orenburg, the head of the department of housing and communal services of the city administration was arrested after the tragedy with stray dogs.
Recall that last Sunday a pack of dogs bit to death an eight-year-old boy on the territory of a cooperative garage. A criminal case has been opened.
Townspeople said they repeatedly complained about the stray dog situation and asked authorities to protect them from aggressive strays.
Law enforcement officers inspected the premises and also carried out searches in the housing and communal services department. Investigators seized documents relating to the trapping of stray dogs. At this time, witnesses are being interrogated, in particular the head of the Orenburg administration.
The head of the housing and communal services department was arrested as a suspect, he was charged under a negligence article, negligently causing the death of a person. The investigation has already asked the court to place him in custody.
